“From my first phone call with you, I am there to listen to you and provide a voice for you when it really counts. I want to help you navigate through the rest of your case with compassion, understanding and dignity so that every question or issue doesn’t get overlooked.”
About Johanna
Johanna is pursuing a degree in social work with a business minor at the University of Texas. And she’s doing it the right way—going to school full-time; doing real casework; being all-in on each of those days. The ability to do that isn’t an accident—it is just what she is.
Growing up in Mesquite with her family (she has three sisters) was special. Her dad has always been a big influence. Seeing how he persevered through life’s challenges taught her something important that she uses to start her day at work—keep going, stay steady, and don’t make excuses.
She used to work behind a cash register at Hollister. Now she works for Jay Murray Law. She’ll tell you that working for Jay Murray Law is the best job she’s ever had. One of her colleagues, Hugo, encouraged her to reach high from the beginning. Her parents have cheered her along every step of the way.
What she likes most about this job is giving people a voice. Many clients feel ignored and overwhelmed. For many, Johanna is the first person that they talk to. Therefore, she wants to assure them that she is serious about taking care of them. She listens, educates them, and ensures they don’t get lost in a system that can already feel overwhelming.
She is described by her friends as being determined, open-minded and always having a smile. When she is not at the office she likes to practice Pilates, spend high-quality time with her nephew, whom she adores completely, and dreams of travelling all over the world. She would be the first to jump on board if teleportation existed.
The advice she gives to both herself and to others is to “pace yourself”, “stay grounded” and “never stop learning”. The fact that Johanna is producing so much at such a young age means that this attitude will serve her well.
